High in the air

Pinja Schönberg is a virtuoso aerial acrobat who specialises in the vertical rope.

Pinja combines traditional circus values and technique with modern contemporary dance-based movement and expression. She has an ongoing desire to be creative with  both modern and traditional circus styles.

Pinja Schönberg started to study circus skills when she was 9 years old and then went on to study at the Swedish Circus School, Cirkus Cirkör (Cirkuspiloterna) 2000–2003, after which she also trained and performed in Montréal, Canada 2004–2005, for example with Cirque du Soleil. Her other aerial disciplines include tissue (aerial silks) and aerial hoop (cerceaux arien).

Pinja gives air acrobacy lessons to both cirkus students and professionals, and dance-, theater and other estrade performers. Pinja's strongest points as teacher are respect towards the student, finding the student's expressional capacity and creativity and bringing them to front. Pinja sets the target high in both her own and her student's work.
